Behavioral Health Services. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX) works with Magellan Health Services (Magellan) for some mental health and substance abuse services. You do not need a referral from your child’s primary care physician (PCP) to get mental or substance abuse help. Your child must see a Magellan provider for these services.

Behavioral health benefits are available to you as the subscriber and your covered dependents on your company’s Magellan plan. Is there a cost for these services?

USING YOUR BEHAVIORAL HEALTH BENEFITS: No referral from your Primary Care Physician (PCP) is required. You will need to obtain an authorization from Magellan.
